Your Nails Matter
While it may not be obvious, hands and feet are featured and highlighted more than you would think in your boudoir photos. Therefore, it’s worthwhile to treat yourself to a mani-pedi before your shoot. Sure, you can paint your nails at home, but why not give yourself the gift of a relaxing manicure and pedicure to look and feel your best? You deserve it!
Before the photo shoot, we’ll have a consultation to discuss all the details. One of the things we’ll talk about is your nail color.
How to Choose the Best Color
Your nail color is a significant accessory in creating your perfect photo shoot. It is an accent detail that brings your look to perfection.
My Favorite - Ooh-La-La French Manicure & Subtle Nudes
You can’t go wrong with a classic french manicure. It goes with everything! It can be finished with a clear polish to add a hint of shine under the lights. Choosing a french manicure is best for an ‘all-natural’ look.
Nude nail polish is also a neutral and subtle choice that is ideal for boudoir shoots. Nude colors make your nails look polished and shiny, while not drawing too much attention to them.
RED-dy to Go Wild!
Nothing says “I’m in charge” like the growl of red! And there are many shades to suit your inner wild.
Red tends to pop quite vividly in photos. So, if you are wearing white or pastels, it will act as an eye-catching contrast.
Pinks Make You Blush
If your goal is a soft and dreamy photo shoot, shades of light pink will be your go-to choice. Light pink won’t jump out in contrast and remains neutral in all light. Then there are the HOT pinks! These sharp and sexy pinks go well with blues and often pick up a blue tone from the lighting. This gives you a wild, exotic look.
Sparkle & Shimmer
Glittery nails are perfect for a more playful or glamorous photo shoot.
The shimmer nail polishes can be one base color with a silver or gold sparkle layered on top or glitter right in the polish itself.
Gel Glamour
Gel nail colors are gorgeous, shiny, and glossy. Gel polishes are great if you need to have your mani-pedi done further in advance of a couple of days before your shoot, as they resist chips well.
Gel colors come in some very out-there shades! Outlandish colors, vibrant tones and the deepest of sexy blacks.
